Dave Wilkinson

David is a retired senior police officer with over 30 years policing experience retiring in 2013. He had a distinguished career, in a variety of roles as a detective and uniformed officer, achieving the senior leadership rank of Superintendent.

David delivered many operations under the award winning Operation Gulf, working with 29 agencies to target organised crime gangs, and their assets, which was praised by Home Secretary Theresa May as good practice.

David is a former head of training at Greater Manchester Police. As project leader for the creation of the state of the art Stephen Oake interview suite, he introduced the concept of training police officers to a higher level of interviewing from a ‘blank canvas’ level. He is an experienced trainer in the areas of investigative interviewing, leadership, diversity and decision making.

A highly respected senior leader, David, has been gold and silver commander for many high profile events including murders, shootings and the visits of the Prime Minister, David Cameron and Prince Harry. He was the senior officer on duty on the ground at the time of the 2011 Salford Riots.

David is a former head of GMP’s Criminal Justice Department and an experienced investigator, utilising both overt and covert methods, specialising in serious crime and police corruption.

He has extensive experience as a panel member in misconduct tribunals David is a confident public speaker appearing on TV and radio on many occasions and as keynote speaker at conferences.

David is now the MD of Corrina Consultants and was recently head hunted to take on the role of Strategic Lead for Mental Health across Greater Manchester because of his skills in relationship management.

Here he used his excellent negotiation skills to bring together partners to deliver a structured programme of delivery, at Chief Executive Level, on behalf of Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy – “You have done an outstanding job in improving the way we deal with those with mental illness.”

David is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a qualified MSP Programme Manager.
