Jackie Webb

IMG 0118Jackie Webb is a qualified social worker who has worked as a probation officer, specialist substance use social worker and as a manager in a child protection team.

A firm believer in achieving best practice, Jackie now provides training and consultancy to a wide range of services looking to implement and embed Motivational Interviewing (MI).

As well as providing bespoke MI training to organisations such as local authority child protection services, homeless projects, an eating disorder unit and mental health charities, Jackie is a visiting lecturer at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic (London, UK) where her courses attract a wide range of professionals including probation officers, medical professionals, psychiatrists, teachers and psychologists.

Jackie also trains student social workers at the University of the West of England (UWE).  Jackie provides MI training at all levels from introductory to advanced level and mentors new trainers through supervision and coaching.

Jackie is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), the organisation established by the authors of MI, William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick.

Through active membership of MINT and MINT UK, Jackie ensures that her knowledge and practice of MI is current, ensuring that trainees have access to the latest thinking and developments in MI.

The approach is increasingly being applied to different settings. Jackie has recently collaborated with Abdul Hye Miah to develop a programme specifically for police and other professionals in the justice system.
